Un Architecte traces the will of one boy to play football and the master craftsman who gives him the means to even attempt that goal. Shot in Democratic Republic of Congo with the nonprofit StandProud, the story is emblematic of difficulties overcome by children and youth with disabilities in developing nations, and of those who can help them realize their dreams. StandProud seeks to maximize the number of children and youth in DR Congo who have access to walking aids and who are able to participate in all normal aspects of Congolese society. StandProud fulfills its mission by raising financial support to provide leg braces (with corrective treatment rehabilitative services) at no cost to poor families and by promoting the integration of children with disabilities through increased opportunities for normal education and through participation in cultural activities.
